The renowned African-American composer H. T. Burleigh created his Southland Sketches for violin and piano, but they also work very nicely on either alto flute or flute. Our new NSM edition provides parts for both alto flute and flute for three of the four original miniatures, so players may choose to play all three of these pieces on one instrument, or switch instruments between sketches, depending on personal preference.
